I was a little bit puzzled when I turned the page of the handbook and saw the requirement at this point was to ‘set up a blog’. As I understood it, this was a prerequisite throughout the course. WordPress has been fairly enjoyable, and along with my notebooks, has been useful in directing me.
I didn’t especially use the template provided by OCA – though I used their suggestions on what menus and headings should be. I then just used another WordPress template. People have generally commented that it is easy enough to follow and navigate, so I hope that is the case for all.
I chose Dyad as the template for my blog. It seemed nice and clear to me. It gave opportunity for images to be used well, and had plenty of white space.
There were a couple of variations between my blog and the suggestion in the book – but I didn’t change very much as it was clear and fairly well organised. The aim it appeared was to keep the blog tidy and easy to navigate. And I hope it was/ is.
