The Assignment – Part 2

Here, taken from The Illustrated History of Clowns and Clowning is the most famous and widely distributed image of Gadet, being painted/ drawn/ sketched by Pierre Bonnard, in his studio, thought to be around 1937 or 1938.

It is unclear from this image, and from research I have done, what painting/ drawing of Gadet, Bonnard is working on. The sketch on the wall is available to see at the Tate in London.

A further famous image of Gadet is of his being held roughly while being questioned in relation to his collaboration.
